Archbishop of Canterbury In Rome
On Friday last Pope Francis met with His Grace Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury and Primate of the Anglican Communion.  Archbishop Welby was accompanied by his wife, Caroline, as well as Archbishop David Moxon, his official representative in Rome, and Archbishop Vincent Nichols, the Catholic Archbishop of Westminster.
Pope Francis, who became Pope only days before Archbishop Welby's enthronement, expressed his gratitude to the Anglican prelate for his prayers.
While acknowledging that the relationship between the Church of England and the Catholic Church has not always been “without pain”, the Holy Father also stated that in recent decades, both Churches have embarked on a “journey of rapprochement and fraternity.”  The Pope also welcomed Catholic Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Westminster, whose presence he noted, shows the bonds of friendship between the Churches.

Those who have been asked to complete volunteer forms for the parish, please return them to the parish office as soon as possible.  We have an obligation under child protection regulations to register and properly vet each volunteer in the parish who works with, or has access to children.  Thanks for your cooperation in this important matter.  St. Patrick’s  Parish complies fully to the Ossory Diocese Child Safeguarding regulations and standards.

Foulkstown Cemetery
We regret that due to persistent illegal dumping in Foulkstown, we have had to remove the refuse facilities (skip), that was intended only for flowers and grave items.  Some individuals were abusing this facility to unload household rubbish and constant appeals to desist from this action were ignored.  We regret having to do this but paying hundreds of euro to dispose of other peoples rubbish was unsustainable.  We now appeal to people to take their withered flowers and other unwanted grave items home and dispose of them in a proper manner.  Thank you for your cooperation.

The Most Holy Trinity, 26th May 2013

Parish Accounts for 2012
The Parish Finance Committee today publishes a summary of the parish accounts for 2012.  Copies are available at the back of the churches this weekend.  As you will see the outcome for the year has been good and we thank sincerely all who continue to generously support the parish and its priests.
While we appreciate the current difficult financial climate we appeal to all parishioners to play a fair part in supporting the parish, its ministries and outreaches by contributing regularly by standing order or through the weekly envelopes.

The Most Holy Trinity
This weekend we celebrate the feast of the Most Holy Trinity.  At the heart of God, there is a community of three persons - the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  This relationship is a sharing of life and love - an instant giving and receiving between three distinct persons.
We are inserted into the Life of the Trinity.  All that we receive is really gained to be shared again with others; there is no room for individualism. The mystery of the Trinity can be defined as sharing generously with others with the mind of Christ. Without probing the mystery of the Trinity, we try to live the Spirit that it embodies - our Christian relationship with one another.
Jesus speaks of our intimate relationship with the Triune God “Anyone who loves me will heed what I say then my Father will love him and we will come and make our abode with Him” (John 14:33). Again in Ephesians 3:19 “May you be filled with the fullness of God” and “I live not I but Christ lives in me” (Gal 2:20): all that means is that a mystical union exists between God and ourselves. The life of God flows through us. We are His eyes; His heart and speech reaching out to others. We embody Him.
