All Ireland Rally for Life
Rise up
for life! Join the All Ireland Rally for
Life at 2.00pm on next Saturday, 6th July at Parnell Square, Dublin. This is the last opportunity to stand up for
life and send a clear message to our Government not to legalise abortion. It is
vital that there is a huge turnout on the day. Those who have not been able to
attend before are asked to make a special effort to attend this time as their presence
on the day could make the difference.
A bus
will run from Loughboy Car Park at 10.00am on next Saturday, 6th July. Please contact Ron at 086 669 6632 to book

Peter’s Pence Collection
The
Annual Peter’s Pence Collection will be taken up at all Masses this weekend.
This collection enables the Holy Father to respond with emergency financial
assistance to requests to aid the most needy throughout the world––those who
suffer as a result of war, oppression, and natural disasters.
Public Mass at Elm Green
The
annual community Mass on the green at Elm Green will be celebrated on this
Tuesday, 2nd July at 7.30pm. Residents
of Elm Green and local estates are invited to attend.
First Friday of July
The
first Friday of July occurs this week. The
priests of the parish hope to visit the sick and home bound at the usual
times. Please inform the Parish Office

St. Vincent de Paul Society
The
parish conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will meet every
fortnight from the 1st July until 26th August 2013. Normal weekly meetings will then resume. Those who need financial help or advice may
contact the conference on 087 681 0589.
Parish Shop
Our
Parish Shop offers a wide range of religious items for sale at reasonable
prices. The shop is located in the foyer
of our Parish Centre and is open during office hours. Feel free to drop in and have a look without
obligation.
Gala Evening of Sacred Music
The
Dominican Brothers and Sisters of the Black Abbey Lay Chapter, in conjunction
with Good Works Opera, are hosting a Gala Evening of Sacred Music in the Black
Abbey, Kilkenny at 8.00pm on the Friday, 5th July to raise much
needed funds. Tickets cost €15.00 and are available from Stone House Books,
Kieran Street or the Black Abbey

Cemetery Masses in Dunmore and Johnswell Cemeteries will be celebrated on
Friday, 5th July at 7.30pm.
Our annual Foulkstown Cemetery Mass will take place

Theological Studies Programme
This
programme ran for the second time last year with a group of 25 participants. It
was a resounding success and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The course aims at
providing religious education, faith formation and spiritual enrichment for
those actively engaged in parish life or in the pastoral care of people, young
and old. The programme runs for 24 weeks, September – May, Mondays and Thursdays,
7.00 – 9.00pm, with modules in the Old and New Testament Scriptures, Church
History, The Church, past and present, Moral Theology, Liturgy & Sacraments.

Living with Suicide
As part
of their Life’s Journey Series Lough Derg offers a one day workshop
titled ‘Living With Suicide’
on Wednesday, 25th September.
This
day is for adults who have been affected by suicide, either through personal
loss or with suicidal ideation, for those ministering to the suicide bereaved

church gate collection in aid of Concern will be held this weekend. Please support.
PLEASE NOTE:
Groups or individuals intending to hold collections at church gates should be
aware that a permit from the Gardaí is needed before the collection can go
ahead. The Gardaí and NOT St. Patrick’s
Parish have responsibility for issuing permits.
Collections should be taken up in compliance with the strict conditions
laid down in the Garda permit.
St.
Patrick’s Parish fully complies with national and diocesan child safeguarding
standards and procedures. We ask all
parishioners to take note of the guidelines etc that are placed in the porches
of all churches. These important
documents list the guidelines and procedures that we follow in the event of a
safeguarding concern. We also ask
parishioners to note the contact phone numbers and details that are printed on
these same posters.
