Annual Christmas Carol
Service
The
annual St. Patrick’s Parish Carol Service takes place on this Sunday, 16th
December at 4.00pm in St. Joseph’s Church, Foulkstown.
For
many this has become a must-attend event in the lead up to Christmas and all
are welcome. Seasonal refreshments will
be served in the Springhill Court Hotel after the service. Please come along and join in the carols.
Brass and Reed Band
Concert
The
St. Patrick’s Brass and Reed Band Annual Christmas Concert will take place in
St. Patrick’s Church on Monday, 17th December at 8.00pm. Guest artists: St. Andrew’s Church Choir,
Bagenalstown, Audrey Larkin, Eugene Dewberry, Rory Broderick, Johann Dewberry.
MC for the Evening: Mr. Noel Power.

Christmas Penitential
Service
Our
parish Penitential Service in preparation for Christmas will be held at St.
Patrick’s Church at 7.30pm on Thursday evening, 20th December.
St.
John the Baptist urges us to make straight the way for Christ to come into our
lives. Confessing our sins and receiving
absolution is an excellent ways of preparing our souls for Christmas. All are welcome.
Finding Hope in Advent
Time
Fr. Willie Purcell will give a final talk and
lead a discussion entitled Finding
Hope in Advent Time at 11.00am on Tuesday morning. All welcome.

Parish Centre
Come
and see the large range of Christmas Cribs and other seasonal gifts at the
Parish Centre.
Parish Centre Christmas Times
The Parish Centre will close for the Christmas Holidays on Wednesday, 19th
December and will reopen on Monday, 7th January 2013.
Parish Office Christmas
Times
The Parish Office will close to the general public on Thursday, 20th
December and will reopen to the public on Monday, 7th January 2013.
While the Centre and Office will be closed to the public the priests
will be available during the Christmas Season.

duty, discover Mass times, leave messages or contact any of the priest’s
personal telephone lines during the holidays.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul
The
members of the St. Patrick’s Parish Conference of the Society of St. Vincent De
Paul would like to thank sincerely those who supported last weekend’s annual
Christmas collection. Your generosity
was phenomenal and the proceeds are being used to help needy families in our
community. Also a sincere ‘thank you’ to
all those who left donations for the Society at the Parish Centre. Your generosity will help families who are
struggling this Christmas.
Parish Fundraising Bag Pack
Thanks
to the many people who helped with our fundraising bag pack at Caulfield’s
Supervalu over the past few days. We
appreciate your time and energy given to the parish. Thanks also to the management and staff at
Caulfield’s Supervalu and to the generous shoppers who contributed to the
collection. Well done to Rita Byrne and
Mary Parsons for mobilising such a willing team. Money raised will help defray our parish
debt. The amount raised was over just
€3,000.00!
Thank You from Adult Folk Choir
St.
Patrick’s Parish Adult Folk Choir would like to thank all who supported their
Carol Singing outside Caulfield's Supervalu on last Thursday evening. The €733.73 raised has been donated to the
St. Patrick’s Conference of the Society of Vincent de Paul.

Christmas Eve: St. Fiacre’s Church at 9.00pm; St. Patrick’s
Church at midnight (the only midnight Mass in the City).
Christmas Day: St. Patrick’s Church at 9.30am, 11.00am and
12.30pm.
St. Fiacre’s Church at 10.30am (Bishop
Seamus will be celebrant at this broadcast Mass) and 12.00noon.
St. Joseph’s Church, Foulkstown:

Missa Cantata
There
will be a High Mass (Missa Cantata) in St. Patrick’s Church, Kilkenny on this Sunday,
Gaudete Sunday, 16th December at 5.00pm.
Evening Mass in Kilkenny
There
will be 6.00pm evening Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral during Advent - another
good way of preparing for Christmas.
Christmas Taize Prayer
There will be a Christmas Taize Prayer on Saturday
22nd December in the Black Abbey Church beginning after the 6.10pm Mass. All welcome to attend.
