Our annual Parish Remembrance Service takes place at St. Fiacre’s Church on Thursday, 29th November at 7.30pm.  All are invited to refreshments in the Parish Centre after Mass.

 High Mass
There will be a Traditional High Mass with Gregorian Chant at St. Patrick’s Church on this Sunday, 18th November at 5.00pm.  All welcome.
Feast of Christ the King
To honour this feast and to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life there will be a period of 40 Hours Adoration in St. Patricks’ Parish Centre from 23rd - 25th November.  The adoration will begin with Mass celebrated by Fr. Willie Purcell, National Vocations Coordinator, in St. Fiacre’s Church at 7.30pm on next Friday, 23rd November. It will conclude with 12 noon Mass celebrated by Bishop Seamus Freeman SAC on next Sunday, 25th November. 
A schedule of the hours is available in St. Patrick’s and St. Fiacre’s Sacristies for those willing to commit to an hour in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.  All are welcome.
 Vocations Seminar
A Vocations Seminar will take place in St. Patrick’s Parish Centre from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, 24th November led by Fr. Willie Purcell, National Vocations Coordinator.  All welcome.
St. Patrick’s Brass & Reed Band
Mass for the deceased members of St. Patrick’s Brass and Reed Band will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church on next Sunday, 25th November at 12.30pm.  The band will provide the sacred music at this Mass.
Retired Nurses’ Association
Mass for retired and deceased nurses will be celebrated in St. Fiacre’s Church on this Wednesday, 21st November at 10.30am. A coffee morning for the Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care Team will follow in the Parish Centre.  Please support.
Presentation Secondary School AGM
The AGM of the Parents’ Council of Presentation Girls’ Secondary School, Loughboy will take place in the school on Wednesday, 20th November at 7.45pm. Our guest speaker will give a talk on cyber-bullying and internet safety.  All interested parents are welcome to attend.
Voices of Hope - St. Canice’s Parish
The “Voices of Hope” series of November talks continue at St. Canice’s Parish this Wednesday, 21st November.  During 7.30pm Mass Dom Mark Patrick Hederman OSB will address the congregation on the topic of hope.  All welcome.
 
Overnight Vigil at Knock Shrine
Pilgrimage to Knock Night Vigil for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, 7th to 8th December. This year is the 40th Annual Eucharistic All-Night Vigil.  We will celebrate the gift of faith in the Year of Faith and give thanks for the gift of life from conception to natural death. Bus leaving Butts Green, Kilkenny at 5.00pm on Friday, 7th December and returning at 9.30am on Saturday, 8th December. Bookings to Peggy Kealy @ 087 056 4430 or Sr. Margaret Mary @ 086 882 5622.
Christmas Mass Cards
Cards offering the recipient a share in the Christmas Masses celebrated by the priests of our parish are available at reception in the Parish Centre.  The cost is 3.00 per card.
All other Mass cards available in the Parish Centre offer an individual Mass and the recommended stipend is €10.00.
Choral Concert
A choral concert will be held in Johnswell Church at 7.30pm on Saturday, 24th November to celebrate the installation of the Thomas Casson Positive Organ.  Kilkenny choirs will perform including St. Canice’s Cathedral Choir, Sospiro and Castlecomer Male Voice. No cover charge, but a collection will be taken up for the Johnswell Choir and Organ Fund. Refreshments afterwards.
 Monster Christmas Bazaar
CBS Primary School, Stephen Street on Sunday, 2nd December from 12 noon until 4.00pm.  Santa Claus, many local craft stalls, raffle, games, cake sale, refreshment.  A great day in store for all.
St. Vincent de Paul Collection
The monthly collection for the St. Patrick’s Parish Conference of the Society will be held at all Masses this weekend.  We appeal for your usual generosity to this parish charity which is inundated with calls for help from local people.

Coffee Afternoon & Sale of Work
The School of the Holy Spirit (Special Needs School) Seville Lodge, Callan Road will hold its annual Coffee Afternoon and Sale of Work in the school on next Sunday, 25th November between 2.00 and 5.00pm.  Enjoy a complimentary cup of tea and a scone while you pick up many bargains at the gift stand, book stall, bric-a-brac or toy stall. Donations Needed
N.C.B.I. Charity Shop (formerly known as Mrs Quinn’s Charity Shop) is currently short of donations due to down turn in economy.  They are in bad need of donations. They are looking for Ladies clothes, Bric-a-brac, DVD's, CD'S and unwanted gifts and baby clothes.
 
Charity Concert
Dogs for the Blind and The National Council for the Blind of Ireland concert at the Springhill Court Hotel on 22nd November at 8.00pm.  Tickets: €15 from venue and Rollercoaster, Kieran Street.
Loughboy Library
Writing your Memoirs - writing sessions will commence on Friday, 23rd November at 11.00am.  Local groups and solo writers are encouraged to come along and support this new service for the older person.  Exhibition Space - is available for artwork and Christmas Crafts.  Toddler Hour -  takes place on Thursdays at 11.30am and is very popular.
