November
This is the time of year when it's easy to think about death, about those who have died.  Over these November days many make a pilgrimage to a grave.  The cemetery, carpeted in the fallen leaves of autumn, reminds us of the flimsy hold we have on life.  Walking through the headstones brings back also, the memory of men and women who walked the pilgrim path of life with us and shaped us by their love, their courage and their endless understanding.
Lord, we miss them a lot, though we know they are at peace.  Sustain in your care those who have died, and comfort us in the knowledge that one day we shall meet them, and you, face to face. Lord, this November, reward the dead for the living they left us and for all the beautiful memories.
