11th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 17th June 2012

Eucharistic Congress
The 50th International Eucharistic Congress ends today with the Statio Orbis Mass in Croke Park.  This Mass is being televised on EWTN and RTE and promises to be a fitting end to a well run and widely received week of devotion and prayer to the Blessed Eucharist.
We are grateful to the many parishioners who attended  the congress representing the Parish on various days during the week and to those attending the closing ceremony Mass today.
We hope that the Congress will bring many blessings to our Parish and Church now and in the future.

Corpus Christi Procession
Because of the Eucharistic Congress the Diocesan Corpus Christi procession will take place in Kilkenny on next Sunday, 24th June 2012.
The procession will begin at St. John’s Church, Dublin Road, Kilkenny at 2.30pm and proceed through the City to St. Mary’s Cathedral, to arrive approximately one hour later.
St. Patrick’s Parish is responsible for a ‘station’ at The Parade.  There we will provide a table for the Blessed Sacrament, a hymn and scripture reading.
All parishioners are invited to participate in the procession.  All altar servers and first Holy Communion recipients are invited to wear their gowns and take a special place in the procession.  Please assemble at St. John’s at 2.15pm on the day.  All are welcome.

Cemetery Mass
Please note that the Foulkstown Cemetery Mass takes place on Thursday 26th July at 7.30pm.
While the Cemetery Committee works hard to maintain the graveyard to the highest standard, they do not look after individual graves.  It is up the individual families to maintain their own graves.  Thanks to all who take care of our cemetery so well.

Foulkstown Cemetery
We are currently in the process of erecting NO DUMPING sings in Foulkstown Cemetery.  We hope this will make it absolutely clear to those who are illegally dumping that our facilities are for the cemetery only.
Once the signs are in place we hope to open the far gate to allow public access to cars once again.  However if the dumping continues, we will have no alternative but to close this permanently.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience that has been caused by the gate closure.   This was all due to one or two individuals.  We again appeal to people to keep a watchful eye for illegal dumping, note registration of cars and forward them to the Parish Office.   Thank you for your co-operation.

Eucharistic Adoration
Eucharistic Adoration takes place every Monday from 11.00am to 10.00pm in St. Fiacre's Church and from 4.00pm to 9.00pm in St. Patricks. All are welcome to attend this adoration of Jesus truly present in his Blessed Sacrament.

Church Cleaners
We are grateful to those who clean and prepare our churches in preparation for our liturgies.  Thanks for your invaluable help.
It goes without saying that many hands make light work: we are in need of volunteers to augment our cleaning teams.  Please contact the sacristans in our churches if you can help.
