Feast of Corpus Christi
This feast is traditionally celebrated on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday (7th June this year).  However, in Ireland as in many other countries, the feast is now celebrated on the following Sunday.  Therefore, we mark the Feast of Corpus Christi this weekend.
This feast celebrates the tradition and belief in the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ and his Real Presence in the Eucharist. It emphasizes the joy of the institution of the Eucharist, which was observed on Holy Thursday in the sombre atmosphere of the nearness of Good Friday.

Corpus Christi Procession
Because of the Eucharistic Congress the Diocesan Corpus Christi procession will take place in Kilkenny on Sunday, 24th June 2012.
The procession will begin at St. John’s Church, Dublin Road, Kilkenny at 2.30pm and proceed through the City to St. Mary’s Cathedral, to arrive approximately one hour later.
People are asked to gather at St. John’s at 2.15pm on the day.  All are welcome.

Extra Tickets for Congress
At the time of going to press our diocesan delegate, Fr. Martin Tobin, had 20 tickets for the closing ceremony at Croke Park on 17th June. These he received from a non-church source for use in the Diocese of Ossory.  We understand they are for the Hogan Stand and cost €10 each.  If interested contact Fr. Martin directly on 086 240 1278. First come, first served...
