Welcome to our Parish
We welcome all who have come to worship with us this bank holiday weekend.  Whether you have come to Kilkenny for the annual Cats Laugh Festival or for other reasons we are delighted you have decided to spend some time in prayer with us. 

Bank holiday Mass Times
Please remember that as this is a bank holiday weekend the only public Mass in our parish on Monday will be at St. Patrick’s Church at 11am.  There is no exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in St. Fiacre’s Church on this Monday.

Blessed Edmund Rice
Congratulations to the Irish Christian Brothers on the 150th anniversary of the birth of Blessed Edmund Rice this weekend.  A special parish celebration of the Eucharist will be held by Bishop Séamus Freeman at Callan Parish Church at 11am on this Sunday.  Visitors are also welcome at any time to the thatched home of Br. Rice at Westcourt, Callan.

Rosary
The monthly rosary on the first Sunday in James Green at the Statue of Our Lady of Kilkenny continues this Sunday, 3rd June at 3pm.  All welcome.

St. Joseph’s Young Priests Society
The monthly meeting of the St. Joseph’s Young Priests Society will take place in the Parish Centre on Friday, 8th June immediately after the 10.30am Mass in St. Fiacre’s Church.

Knock Summer Festival
The Knock Summer Festival is taking place on Saturday 28th July.  This day will be full of talks, workshops, music, prayer and reflection.  The theme for the day is ‘ONE’.

Eucharistic Congress News
The Congress opens at the RDS, Dublin on next Sunday and continues until the closing ceremony which will be held at Croke Park on Sunday, 17th June.
Tickets for the concluding ceremony at Croke Park which were booked through the Parish Office will be available after Tuesday of this week.
Tickets for events at the RDS which were booked online or by telephone (including those booked with Michelle’s help at the Parish Office) must be collected at the RDS on the first morning for which the tickets have been booked.  It is advisable to have your booking reference number with you when you collect your ticket - number can be found on the confirmation email received at the time of booking).

Tickets are also available at selected Supervalu and Centra Supermarkets.  (Supervalu, Loughboy is a participating store.)
The parish coach for the Eucharistic Congress will leave St. Fiacre’s Church at 6.30am sharp on Tuesday, 12th June.  There will be a stop at Bewley’s Hotel, Newlands Cross to allow for optional breakfast.  The coach will leave the RDS to return to Kilkenny at 8.00pm. 
This coach is fully booked; coach tickets have been printed and are available for collection at the Parish Office.  Please do so as soon as possible.
Ossory Youth is running two coaches to the concluding ceremony at Croke Park on Sunday, 17th June. Seats are still available: 087 948 2753.
The Congress organisers have arranged a Taize Experience at the RDS on Monday, 11th June.  A coach will leave Ossory Youth, New Street at 3.00pm on that afternoon.  Coach is free; admittance to RDS is €3.00.  Contact 087 948 2753.
Ossory Pilgrims are welcome to call to Stand 117 for a welcome and a cup of tea.

Bereaved by Suicide
“ A time to meet others bereaved by suicide.”  Kilkenny Bereavement Support will hold a meeting for people bereaved by suicide in Villa Maria, Talbots Inch, Kilkenny on Thursday 7th June at 8pm.  For information phone 056 775 6538.

Loughboy Library
Knitters wanted—for a unique knitting project.  Registration forms and starter packs with needles, wool and patterns available at Loughboy Library.

Life in the Spirit Seminar
The final session in the Black Abbey Life in the Spirit Seminar will be held on this Tuesday evening at 7.30pm.  Bishop Seamus Freeman will be the chief concelebrant.  All welcome to our concluding event.

Feast of Corpus Christi
The celebration of the feast of Corpus Christi has been transformed to the Sunday following: our parish will celebrate the feast on next Sunday.

Latin Mass for Corpus Christi
Latin Mass in the 1962 Rite for the Feast of Corpus Christi will be celebrated at St Patricks’ Church at 7pm on Thursday.

Prayer for Motorists Before Driving.
Before I take my place behind the wheel I pray, O Sacred Heart - guide me on my way.  Virgin Mary, Morning Star, from every danger guide this car.  Thou dear Lord, who gave it to enjoy,  Grant that its purpose be to save and not destroy.  Amen.

Kids’ Mini Marathon and Adult 5K
A Kids Mini Marathon and Adult 5K will take place on 17thJune at Kilkenny Castle Park at 2pm. Children and Teens are welcome to take part. An Adult 5k will take place directly after the kids’ run also in the Castle Park ensuring the whole family can participate and have fun while raising much needed funds for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and Chernobyl Children International. Entry is €5 and the Adult 5K is €10. Registration forms are available from Studio One Barbers, Loughboy and Hennessy’s, Newpark S.C. or before 12.45pm at Castle Gates.

The annual church gate collection for the Good  Shepherd Centre will take place this weekend the 9th/10th June.  Please support.
