Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, 19th July 2015

Refurbishment of St. Patrick’s Church
At last we have come to the end of the re-roofing of St. Patrick's Church.  It has been a long few weeks but the end result is worth it. Not only have we a secure and weather proof roof for the years ahead, hopefully, come winter everyone will also FEEL the benefits.
Many thanks to everyone for their patience and understanding during this construction work. Thanks also for the kind words of encouragement we have received from parishioners and elsewhere.
There is a small amount of work to be carried out in the sanctuary in August but this should only take about 4 days.  The work carried out in St. Patricks’ church :
· Insulate are re-slate the main church and sacristy.
· Re-lead and rebuild the chimney stack.
· Re-slate and repair the bell tower.
· Re-point the pinnacles.
· Rebuild and re-fit new gullies and downpipes.
· Repair a main truss beam inside the church.
When the final bills have been finalised we will give a breakdown of the costs associated with this project.
Thanks to PM Cantwell Ltd for their professionalism and hard work over the last number of weeks. Thanks also to Dermot O’Shea of Kelly Partnership and Joe Meagher from the Diocesan Buildings Committee.
People may have noticed the removal and reorganising of pews in the church. This was to allow better access for wheelchairs and the general public. We hope to make this a permanent feature to make the church more accessible for people.

Foulkstown Cemetery Mass
The annual Cemetery Mass at Foulkstown will be celebrated on Thursday, 30th July at 7.30pm.  It’s time to pay special attention to family graves to have them looking well for the Cemetery Celebration.  We appeal to those who have time and energy to care for the adjacent graves of those with elderly or no living relatives.
Those who attend regularly will appreciate the need to arrive early as heavy traffic in the area causes delays for Mass goers.  We ask that you obey the directions and instructions given by the Gardai and stewards.
