Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, 28th June 2015

Best Wishes to Mr Brian Cody
We congratulate Mr. Brian Cody, Principal, St. Patrick’s De la Salle National School, who retires this week. We pray that God will bless him with continued good health and many years of happy retirement.
We thank him for his 41 years of service in St. Patrick’s De la Salle School. We thank him for his kindness, his leadership and for sharing with us his gift of knowledge.
Mass will be celebrated for Mr. Cody at 12.30pm on Monday, 29th June in St. Patrick's Church.  Parents and pupils are welcome to attend.

Ordination of Rev. Brian Griffin
Rev. Brian Griffin from Slieverue Parish will be ordained to the priesthood for service in the Diocese of Ossory on this Sunday afternoon.  The ordination ceremony begins at 3.00pm at St. Mary’s Cathedral and all are welcome.  Brian has been appointed to St. John’s Parish and will take up this role in September.  Please pray for him this weekend and as he prepares to take up his ministry.

Refurbishment of St. Patrick’s Church
Work has now finished on the re-slating of the roof of the church and the rebuilding of the chimney.  The sacristy remains to be re-slated and there is repair work to be carried out on a beam immediately over the altar.  To facilitate the internal work the church will most likely have to be closed to the public for the weekdays beginning Monday, 6th July.  We will give further details next weekend.  All is going to plan and we appreciate your patience and cooperation during the works.
As a matter of interest, we have received a query about the bells in St. Patrick’s tower.  There are two of them, of different sizes.  These are still in place, are in good condition and sometime in the future, God willing, we hope to automate them for use in our church liturgies.
